Well I'm glad that the puppy was well behaved on the ride back. I remember when my parents got our dog. She cried and cried the first night because she wasn't used to being alone. There is definitely an adjustment period for them.

Nice weather driving is way better than crappy weather driving. I know, I have experienced both.

We got some more rain this morning but all it did was make it more humid here... Went for my run this morning and it was 77, but felt like 80+. This was at 7:45am... Yuck... Supposed to get more rain/storms this afternoon but we will see if that actually happens or not.

Hasn't rained since I last posted. Just got hotter and more humid... Sigh.

Well I have officially started writing the thank you notes on paper. Had to type them first so the wife could okay them. Now that they are approved I can write them up... So much fun.

sooo glad back in my day I didnt own a computer...heck, my typewriter was even past its time (no capital letters working on it and it was a MANUAL one!), also helped that we had a pretty dang small wedding so not as many gifts to write notes for (think I still have a few to write out----20 years later )

I think it got even more humid too...and the a/c stayed on for almost 3 hours today (due to low battery in the thermostat ....ooops ).....its a good night to stay indoors near a fan or in my case, under the a/c vent

I only have like 25-30 to write. Which isn't too bad I guess. Could have been closer to 50. That would have sucked. Big time.

It is even more humid today... 90% humidity. Felt like 85 on my run this morning. It was pretty awful... I am thinking the rest of the day will be spent inside. Far to hot unless you are swimming...

did some errands today...now I am going to go and take my 2nd shower of the day (probably with COLD water since I can basically cook an egg on my head right now)....

bleh, still hate shopping, too many people and then too many questions at the check out (your phone number, zip code .....uhm, I am just paying in cash thanks anyways).

too blinkin hot to do anything for the rest of the day (already in the 80's at 10am guess its probably going to see if it can hit 90!).

I am a summer person. I don't mind the heat or the humidity, except when trying to sleep at night.

I don't know how many late sleepers I irritate by mowing at 7:00 am, but with 2 yards to mow......

Starting to need a little rain. An inch a week would be nice. Having to water the new flowers to keep them alive. 4 times the one rose has been transplanted, still blooming.

Took a 260 mile round trip road trip. Left the house at 8:00p Sunday night and returning to the house at 1:15a Monday morning. Took the oldest son to a friend's house in southeast Kansas. Possible job opportunity for him there.

I went to PetSmart to get my bearded dragon some crickets. Other than my run this morning and that trip I haven't been out. Wife hasn't even showered and it is 7pm. God old summer life.

Ya I don't understand why they always want that. PetSmart is the same way. They always ask for my phone number. Why? Do you plan on calling me? Cause you better not. I have a PetPerks reward card with them so they never ask for my number now. But I don't understand why they need it.

I get up at 7:30am to go run, but I usually am awake by 6:30-7. Wife wouldn't get up until 1pm if I let her sleep.

Rain? Hmm, haven't seen much of that lately.

I like summer too, just not quite acclimatized this year for it.
I dont mind the lawn mower, heck most car/bus/truck/train noise doesnt bother me either---the except are the LOUD cars (people who seem to think that they are---well, never mind, but they like to see just how obnoxious they can make their cars sound, there really is NO reason to have a loud car, we have MUFFLERS for that!) and motorcycles. Both of those will wake me up. I love the sound of most household machines: washers, dryers, vacuum, fans, my favorite is my hair dryer, I could sleep with that on like a baby!! BUT you turn music on--any kind--and it will keep me awake, for some reason my brain must listen and hear the end of the song or whatever.

the store I was at I have no plans on getting a rewards card from (dont want one), they just had something on clearance at a really good price, so no need for 20 questions! (and HIGHLY doubt I would get any rewards from something that is 80% off anyways!!)

It definitely takes some time, especially when the weather is odd. Like today, much cooler and less humidity. For no reason what so ever.

Loud cars are stupid... I mean seriously? What makes it cool to have your car blow everyone's eardrums? I wish they would enforce the excessive noise laws that they have here. Because some of those motorcycles and trucks definitely break that law.

gee pwnd are you sure you're a guy? I mean guys LOVE loud cars
my neighbor has one of those cars--and since the garage is right below my bedroom, I get to hear it every morning that I am in my bed at 5am and one of the guys up the road has a loud motorcycle, thinks its neat to see how much noise it can make
Just dont get the point.
(same thing about back in college in the dorms...all the guys used to see who could play their music the loudest...why? because they could... just dont understand guys sometimes).

Real men, Cosy, do not need loud cars us real men just think people are dumb for having them

Loud music in a car though, that's okay, but making your car something special, to me, is stupid really, a car is to get from A to B and that is about it. ^^

then my hubby is a real man!
I have a few things in my car to make it more comfortable for me...I do not have special plates on it (cost too much for one thing), and my hubby requires the car to be spartan for the most part (even my car stuffy got the boot)...so outside of a few things like my fuzzy steering wheel cover (has a reason--arthritis is bad, big steering wheel, good, hot steering wheel bad, fuzzy and cool good) there is not much else in it that would point to who owns it.
as for loud music...if I can sing along in my car with my windows up to your music, its TOO LOUD! consideration of others is something that many people seem to forget. (or perhaps never learned or cared)

lol I'm glad azzer agrees with me. Poser men are the ones who enjoy stupid loud cars. Us real men know better.

Speaking of cars, went and looked at a car today. Guy didn't want to go down at all on an 01 Honda Civic that had 71,000 miles on it. He was a grand over Kelley Blue Book value. Oh well. Just gonna have to keep looking.

Cars should purr, not roar, when idling, and sing when hard on accelerator. Trucks, should have what I call a throaty sound. Not loud, but proud.

I had to adjust the two small window A/C units this morning. The wall thermo said it was 60 deg. Pulled the 30 year old 220 unit and put in two smaller units the day before. One in our bedroom and one in the livingroom. They appear to be better working than the bigger unit, and hopefully cheaper.

The only places that have asked me for a phone number has been auto parts stores. "For warranty purposes." The one thing that bugs me more and more about stores, many are charging a dollar or more when you use a debit card. Those places are now getting checks, just to save that dollar. At 3 cents a check, it works out in my favor.

It is for the wife. Her old convertible died a month ago. RIP car. So we are looking for a new one for her. My Toyota still works fine.

Darn right on that Perk. Cars should not sound like somebody just pulled a lions tail.

Was nice this morning. Wonderful change to run in 65 degree heat instead of 85. Definitely like that.

I hate window mounted A/C units. Central is the way to go imo.

Warranty purposes? How about if it breaks, I'll call you and keep my receipt. Then you can look it up and say I did purchase it there so I can get my warranty taken care of.

I saw a lot of place in Door County that said you had to charge a minimum of $5 in order to use a debit card. Dunno why they are doing that...

never had a debit card, never will...I either use cash or credit (though some places still take my checks---), and if I dont have a card they use, they dont want my business plain and simple (got it down to 2 cc...and I am not planning on getting any more ).

yeah, weather has been nice the last 2 days...though I see that it is supposed to get hot again (it IS summer in the midwest, ya'know).
